The Book of Liz Bios

Tyler Cochran (Yvone/Brother Hesikiah/Rudy Bruton) is a graduate of Texas Christian University where he earned a bachelor of science in advertising/public relations with a minor in theater. His previous acting credits with Theatre TCU include Anything Goes (Elisha Whitney), Lonely (Frank), Noises Off (Lloyd), Scuba Lessons, Cabaret (Herman/Rudy), You Can’t Take It With You (Mr. Henderson), As You Like It (Adam) and The Country Wife. Tyler has also been seen in A Crazy Love of Things (Miguel) with Amphibian Stage Productions, The Odd Couple (Speed) with Theatre Off the Square and A Christmas Carol (Marley) with Main Street Theatre.

Kenny Green
(Reverend Tollhouse/Visil/Duncan), last seen as Bob Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird, returns to the TA stage. Theatre Arlington will always have a special place in Kenny's life, as this was the first theater he was cast in when he retired. Since then, he has primarily been seen at Grapevine's Runway Theatre where he currently serves as president of its Board of Trustees. Living in Colleyville, he is presently trying to raise his 5-month-old English Springer Spaniel, Betty Lou Beets. In his spare time, he alphabetizes books at Borders and is an avid organic gardener with a special interest in Salvias. He also does work with Funimation Entertainment and his voice can be heard in various animes such as “Shin-chan,” “Desert Punk” and “One Piece.”

Lana K. Hoover
(Sister Butterworth, et al) is making her debut at Theatre Arlington. She has a degree in theater from Texas Wesleyan University and is a member of Wesleyan Encore, a group dedicated to providing scholarships for Wesleyan theater students. Some area theatres at which she has appeared are Circle Theatre, Jubilee Theatre, Stage West Theatre, Runway Theatre and Onstage in Bedford. She is a private acting coach for high school students preparing their college auditions and works with KWH Consulting Services. She would like to dedicate her performance to her two best productions, Lauren (along with son-in-law, Ben) and Brady for always supporting her dreams and understanding her quirky humor. Thanks for the opportunity BJ and Charles!

Shane Strawbridge (Brightbee/Donny) is excited to be a part of The Book of Liz. He has worked with several theatre companies around the Metroplex and beyond, including Casa Mañana, Shakespeare Dallas, The Modern Stage, Rover Dramawerks, Oh Look Performing Arts Company and Post Playhouse. This is Shane's second show with Theatre Arlington, having appeared in Working as Frank Decker this spring. Other favorite roles from past productions include Hucklebee (The Fantasticks), Dr. Gregg (Gallantry), Major-General Stanley (Pirates of Penzance), Quintin Sustinian (An Extremely Normal Man), Herman (My Favorite Animal) and Father Rivard (The Runner Stumbles). Jacque Wahl
(Sister Elizabeth Donderstock) is thrilled to be back on stage in DFW and especially to be back at TA after a three year hiatus living in Houston! She was last seen on this stage in her award-winning performance as Jesse Mae in A Trip to Bountiful. Other roles at TA include: Babe in Crimes of the Heart, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense and Suzanne in Dearly Departed. Jacque has performed in theaters all over the Metroplex in roles such as Lily St. Regis in Annie, Sheila in Jake’s Women, Sandy in Grease, Bananas in The House of Blue Leaves, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and Ethel Cohan in George M! (just to name a few of her favorites.) She spent 10 years as a teacher and actress at Casa Mañana playing numerous characters from princesses to animals. Jacque holds a bachelor of fine arts in acting and an master of arts in theater. She is currently teaching theater at TCC-SE campus. She considers her greatest accomplishment to be her marriage to husband James, (20 years in July) and their three funny and fabulous kids Alex, Brannan and Chandler Rose who put a smile on her face daily! This show is dedicated to those four Walls who always offer their love and support! Special thanks to BJ for having her back and to Charles for the opportunity! Be blessed!

Charles Ballinger
(Director) is an award-winning director of such productions as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Ray Benson/Teri Bibb), West Side Story (Greg Fedderly), Oklahoma! and Phantom. He was formerly the Artistic Director of the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera Association, Assistant Producer/Artistic Director of Casa Mañana Musicals, Inc. and Executive Director of the Casa Mañana Children's Playhouse and Theatre School. Charles has also directed shows for the Ensemble Theatre in Santa Barbara, and the University of California at Santa Barbara. Directing credits include: The King and I, Grease, The Sound of Music, Hello, Dolly, South Pacific, The Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage Aux Folles, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Sylvia, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Oliver, Man of La Mancha, Gypsy, Ten Nights in a Barroom, Noises Off, Daddy's Dyin' (Who’s Got The Will), Thieves Carnival and The Innocents. He also directed over sixty children's plays and musicals for Casa Children's Playhouse. Earlier in his career, Charles was an Assistant Professor in the Cooperative Department of Speech and Drama at Notre Dame University and Saint Mary's College and served as Managing Director of the summer theater program. He also served as an Adjunct Professor with the theater department of Texas Christian University. Charles is a member of SSDC, AEA, SAG and AFTRA. He holds both bachelor of fine arts and master of fine arts degrees in theater production.

Matthew Grevan
(Assistant Director / Stage Manager) is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington and was last seen in Theatre Arlington’s production of Working. He has also been seen in many productions at UTA including Bury the Dead, Business Lunch at the Russian Tea Room and Words, Words, Words. He would like to thank his family, puppies, Chuck Norris and Terri for their love and support. 

Jack Hardaway
(Set Designer) has a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of Texas at Arlington and is the production manager for Mecca Design and Production in Dallas. He is in his fourth season at Theatre Arlington and enjoys the challenges of designing and building each show's set. At Mecca, he is currently working on new trade show designs for Armstrong Floors.

Cathy O’Neal
(Props Designer) has been doing props for Theatre Arlington for the last 11 years, and you probably didn’t even know it because she’s so often behind the stage manager’s desk. Cathy has taken her props obsession into the Metroplex, and in addition to Theatre Arlington, which will always be her home; she serves as a props designer for Casa Mañana and Circle Theatre in Fort Worth, Uptown Players and Imagination Players in Dallas, and Second Thought Theatre in Addison. She also has designed props for Kids Who Care, WaterTower Theatre and Contemporary Theatre of Dallas. Her day job is brand-new communications coordinator for the new Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington, and she manages to sneak in teaching one class a semester for the University of Texas – Arlington Communications Department. She loves dogs, penguins, books, theater, the beach and her constantly growing theater trash family.

Ana F. Pettit
(Lighting Designer) began her work with Theatre Arlington’s first production, Light Up the Sky., and has continued her work as Resident Lighting Designer for the past 15 seasons. Her designs credits also include: Forever Plaid, A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline, Smoke on the Mountain and many more during the 2000-2004 seasons for Granbury Opera House. She designed The Waiting Room, All in the Timing and The Boys Next Door for Mountainview College, String of Pearls for Echo Theatre, Southern Baptist Sissies for Uptown Players, A Wrinkle in Time for CATS, Dames at Sea for Texas Wesleyan University and the DIFFA Benefit at the Arlington Art Museum. Ana is a past recipient of the “Excellence in Technical Theatre Award” from the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County and “Best Lighting Design” from the Column Awards. She thanks all of you for supporting the arts in Arlington!
